Shola park access is typically permit-based and seasonal. Confirm current visitor routes, guide needs, and entry rules with Munnar wildlife authorities before travel.
Travel is realistic for visitors staying in Munnar, but interior access remains weather-sensitive and not designed for fully barrier-free movement.
Anamudi Shola National Park is one of Kerala's compact high-elevation shola parks in the Munnar landscape. Though small in size, it protects a delicate mosaic of evergreen shola forest, grassland edges, streams, orchids, and cool montane habitat that links with the broader high-range conservation network around Eravikulam and the upper Western Ghats.

Use hired taxis or local high-range vehicles familiar with estate and forest roads.
Shola evergreen forest, montane grassland, orchids, ferns, moss-rich streamside vegetation, and high-range shrubs.
Anamudi Shola supports small but important populations of montane mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates adapted to the cool Western Ghats highlands.
Anamudi Shola was declared a national park in 2003 as part of a broader effort to protect Kerala's shrinking shola-grassland ecosystems in the high ranges of Idukki.
