This is one of the most accessibility-friendly parks in the app because it is close to Bengaluru and has developed visitor facilities, but long outdoor movement, boarding safari vehicles, and uneven paths still require planning.
Bannerghatta National Park lies on the southern fringe of Bengaluru and protects a mosaic of dry deciduous woodland, scrub, rocky outcrops, and seasonal streams. It is one of the easiest national parks in India to reach from a major city, yet it still supports elephants, leopards, deer, sloth bears, rich birdlife, and a larger protected landscape that links to the eastern ranges of the Western and southern Deccan forest systems.

Bengaluru City, Yeshwantpur, and KSR Bengaluru stations connect the city with most major Indian routes.
The park is reached via Bannerghatta Road from Bengaluru. Traffic can be heavy on weekends and holidays.

Dry deciduous forest, scrub, bamboo, acacia, sandalwood-associated woodland, and thorny understory typical of the Deccan plateau edge.
Bannerghatta supports elephants, carnivores, deer, primates, reptiles, and an urban-edge bird community that remains surprisingly diverse for a park beside Bengaluru.
Bannerghatta was notified in 1974 to conserve the forested hills and wildlife south of Bengaluru. Its larger protected complex later evolved into one of India's best-known urban-edge wildlife destinations.
