About This Park

Guindy National Park is a rare urban protected area in the heart of Chennai. Despite its small size, it preserves southern tropical dry evergreen scrub, grassland patches, blackbuck, spotted deer, jackals, reptiles, and resident birds. The public-facing Children's Park and Snake Park nearby make the area especially popular with families, while the national park core remains an important green lung and biodiversity refuge for the city.
