Basic Information

About This Park

Keibul Lamjao National Park is celebrated as the world's only floating national park because much of its habitat rests on phumdi, the floating biomass and soil mats of Loktak Lake. This wetland mosaic is crucial for the sangai, Manipur's iconic brow-antlered deer, and makes the park one of India's most distinctive conservation landscapes.
