Safari access is by vehicle on forest tracks. Facilities are more limited than Assam's major tourist parks, so visitors with mobility needs should arrange transport and assistance in advance.
Orang National Park, often called Mini Kaziranga, protects grassland, woodland, and wetland habitat along the north bank of the Brahmaputra in Assam. Though small in area, it supports one-horned rhinoceros, tiger, elephant, wild buffalo, and important birdlife. Its compact landscape makes it a rewarding addition to an Assam wildlife itinerary, especially for visitors looking beyond the state's larger and better-known parks.

Alluvial grasslands, riverine forest, wetlands, and scattered woodland shaped by Brahmaputra floodplain processes.
Despite its small size, Orang supports rhinos, tigers, elephants, deer, wild buffalo, reptiles, and a strong assemblage of wetland and grassland birds.
The area was protected as a wildlife sanctuary before being declared a national park in 1999. Orang later became a tiger reserve, strengthening protection for this compact but species-rich Brahmaputra floodplain ecosystem.
